Harold and Kumar escape Guantanamo Bay starts off where the first film left off, with our stars on the way to Amsterdam and of course, smoking a bong. But underneath all the weak jokes and pot, does this movie have a message? I think this movies message is to stop accepting stereotypes. We see this throughout the movie; them being searched for looking Muslim in the airport, the black men who they ran from who were trying to help them fix their car, the redneck and his nice house. Stereotypes are often false and are prejudices that people have developed subconsciously and hurts the community. Another political message in the film is its portrayal of the current Iraq War as an extension of Gorge H. Bush's Iraq War. This is perhaps because of Gorge W. bush's desire to fain his fathers approval. So don't stereotype this movie as a typical stoner movie. Beyond its stupid jokes it packs a meaningful political message.
Good blog. Yes, it does have some important things to say.
