Some professors post notes, discussion topics, the syllabus, grades, assignments and everything else the site caters to in order to assist the students with the course outside of the actual classroom. Other professors do not use the site at all and all assignments with other class work material is either assigned in class or the syllabus is only posted on LORA. It's nice to have the syllabus somewhere online, but LORA is much more arduous and difficult to navigate than Blackboard.
Overall, I am perfectly content with the site and perhaps it is the professors themselves that make the site difficult to use. I'm not sure if there is not enough education for faculty use on the site or if some faculty refuse to deal with the new technology, but professors must be encouraged to utilize the site more for the students' convenience.
Good, You also have the Politics and Reel LIfe syllabus on Blackboard, so you can print it out. some people do like a hard copy.
