I don't think any person should have the right to torture any other person. I don't approve of the idea of torture at all, because I feel that human life should be valued, no matter what. If people are caught, they should be tried and punished. Perhaps even offered a less evil punishment in exchange for useful information. Perhaps this is close-minded, but I don't believe that torture is the right path to take in any circumstance. Even if the government set standards and allowed only certain procedures, torturers would not follow these rules. In addition, who is to say which forms of torture are acceptable and which aren't? They should all be unacceptable, in my opinion. Whose discretion will be used to make these decisions? A safer, "more acceptable" procedure of torture is simply not possible, and so I think it should be rid of altogether.
