Bucher, Rendition Post

Although many Americans will outwardly profess their disdain for torture, institutions such as Guantanamo Bay and the efforts in countries such as Egypt still thrive. The question of whether someone has the "right" to torture is completely irrelevant. Torture is not only an unethical act but it also does more harm than good. Some call it a fate worse than death which seems fathomable that much torture involves the victim denied death over pain.
Torture involves pain which is sought to be avoided by most humans. If one is tortured enough, he or she will confess to any accusation given. The mind psychologically works to find ways to avoid pain and seek pleasure. Also, the idea of terrorism states that when one kills a terrorist, he or she creates more. The same can be said for torture. Not only is the information gained from torture questionable, but you also create more enemies.
