Since we will have no class this week and no film, your post for the blog should be a 200-250 word review of a movie that you think would make a good addition to this class. Convince me that I should add it to the rotation.
Post a picture or trailer from the film or a link to another review.

ReplyDeleteI think we should watch the movie Dick, directed by Andrew Fleming, in this class. The movie Dick is about two teenage girls that wander away from their class tour in the white house during the Nixon administration and meet the president, over time they develop a friendship with the president and unintentionally cause his resignation. I think this movie brings a new light to the Watergate scandal, that although is completely false, it adds a sense of humor to the whole situation. I think this movie would be well received in your course because it’s a funny lighthearted comedy that is hard to hate. I also think this movie would be well suited for your course because although its main story is complete fiction, it does a good job of setting the environment of the politics in the 1970’s, by showing the inner workings of the white house. I also think this movie would be helpful in keeping students focused on the course, this is a lively movie that’s enjoyable to watch, which would help offset the other movies that have a sort of depressing quality, such as Brokeback Mountain and American History X.
