Castellini- Stop Loss

I believe that the best way for a soldier to avoid the circumstances that we read about and saw with this film is to appeal to the government each time something like this happens. I think it will take more than one soldier, but if their families fight back, and this kind of thing is made known to the public more, the sense of injustice that is involved with this will be more and more difficult to avoid. I believe the first step to any kind of change or action has to begin with knowledge. If people are not aware of this, how are they to know that it is happening to soldiers against their will. I think if a solider wants any sense of a life in this country, going AWOL or leaving the country will not give that to them. Although I understand that this method takes a great deal more time and the results may not come as quickly compared to someone who just left the forces, I think it is more effective, it will be more beneficial for future solider that are asked to stay on for more tours than they had originally agreed to, and that way, these men can get their lives back. If a soldier just left the country or went AWOL, they are not solving the problem; they are just running away from it. That method will only hinder and inconveience the lives of those soldiers, the soldiers they left behind, their family and our country by that decision.
