The first scene that accurately represents Bush’s presidency would have to be the scene in the field when W and his posse are wandering looking for their car, while discussing the possibility of war. They conversation of war, and the variety of opinions that were shared seem to be a probable occurrence within the White House during that time. Although likely, the scene was littered with satirical humor and metaphors, making it an important part of the overall message the movie was trying to illustrate. Another scene would be the press conference in which Bush stumbles over a question about his mistakes and lessons learned in the white house. There were many press conferences and public announcements that involved Bush stumbling over his words or saying something that didn’t make sense, so this scene seems like an accurate portrayal of that aspect of his presidency. Overall the movie seemed overly ridden with satire, and although many of the specific events may or may not have happened in real life, such events seem to be a likely representation of how his presidency was handled and governed.
Good comments on the scene. W's stumbling at the press conference was Stone's way of making him more human, but also his way of pointing out that Bush did not really cut it as a public speaker.
