Tricamo-Palmer-Marijuana

The legalization of marijuana is an issue that is very complex. There are tons of factors that have contributed to this: The very successful campaign to initially legalize it created some very false information that has persisted to this day. After that, it quickly became the most popular drug in the United States. Now we are left in a strange world where there is a huge amount of moral objection to marijuana yet an equally large amount of marijuana use.
This obviously causes a great deal of problems with society. When a large percentage of the population is doing something illegal, we are left with a country full of criminals. This is not a healthy society and it must be changed. The government's plan to fix the problem for the last fifty years or so has been to fight drugs with increasing force. This has done nothing to stop drug use, and has only incriminated a ton of people. It is time to try a different plan.
The problem with the idea of legalizing marijuana is the deep seeded moral objections that many in our country have. It has become such a common belief that marijuana is simply a bad thing that it will be hard to go against this. But what we need is to stop thinking about marijuana in such dramatic, black and white terms. This is done by both sides. Anti-marijuana activists see marijuana as an evil thing that is ruining society, while pro-marijuana activists see it as a god-given plant that can do magical things for people. What we need to do to address the issue is look at it rationally. We need to stop being so idealistic about marijuana, whether we think it good or bad, and try to find a realistic solution for its legality.

  1. I presume that this is your Traffic Blog. Very nice. I will make sure that you know that you are caught up for blogs. If you do the State of the Nation Blog (that I just posted) and the Horton Hears a Who Blog, you will not have to take the final exam. My only suggest is that, in this Blog, you relate your claims to Traffic.
